What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that remember your preferences while surfing and store them on your own computer. Visitors to websites will be confronted with cookies. These are small files that keep information about your visit to a site up to date and are saved on your PC. In addition to the cookies that we save to allow the site to function properly, you may also receive cookies from other parties who supply components of our site.

A cookie does not save your name, address or your age nor does a cookie obtain any other personal information. They only save your preferences and interests based on your surfing behaviour. Therefore, cookies can NEVER be used to retrieve private data from your computer or to intercept your password.

What cookies does Link2Trials use?

1. Functional cookies

Required cookies: we sometimes use cookies to allow you to surf the sites properly. Your PC remembers the layout you have created. We do not need to ask your permission to use these cookies.

2. Cookies via Google Analytics

We use the American company Google (Google Analytics) to keep our visitor statistics up to date. This system remembers which pages our visitors have viewed, where they clicked-through from, which browser and screen resolution they use and much more. We use this information to obtain a better picture of our visitors and to optimise our site based on this. Google, which provides this service, uses this information to compile a relevant, anonymous, advertising profile allowing more targeted adverts to be provided.

Google can provide this information to third parties if it is legally obliged to do so, or insofar as third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have no influence in this matter. We have given Google permission to use the analytical information obtained for other Google services.

3. Cookies from external parties

Our website includes buttons to plug ('like') web pages or share ('tweet') them on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. These buttons are operated by fragments of code that are provided directly by Facebook or Twitter. This code saves cookies on your PC.  We do not know what these platforms do with these cookies. The information is not transparent to Link2Trials and unfortunately we have no influence, therefore, on whether or not these cookies are saved.

This websites also saves cookies to remind you about surveys you have taken part in, if applicable.

The Link2Trials Network uses components (and therefore cookies too) from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, AddThis and others.
